Portal Help for Parents

We have assembled the following information in order to answer frequent questions and to resolve some of the common issues experienced when accessing the Holmewood House Portal.

Portal Basics

The Holmewood House Portal is designed for use by pupils and staff. In addition all Holmewood parents can access the system.

On the main portal, parents are able to see bulletins and subject announcements, as well as accessing shared documents and engaging in discussions. The portal also provides a link to PASS for Parents. This allows access to certain information in the school database, including assessments and reports, your contact details and child's timetable, for example.

PASS for Parents & System Speed Information

The PASS for Parents section of the portal is currently in beta status. This means that it is still undergoing testing and maintenance by the developers whilst it is live. This is a third-party product, so outside our direct control. You may experience issues with the speed of the system at peak times, such as when there are several other users accessing the system or other processes are taking place.

Logging into the Portal

The portal is accessed via the link on the website homepage, or via https://portal.holmewood.kent.sch.uk/.

All parents who have notified the school of their email address have been sent a username and password. If these details were not received or have been lost, please email the webmaster.

Your username must be preceded by holmewood\ so therefore entered in the format: holmewood\username. Please note that usernames and passwords are case sensitive, and should not include spaces.

Supported Browsers and Operating Systems

The portal and associated systems are compatible with:

  • Internet Explorer 7+ (Windows)
  • Firefox 3.0 + (Windows)
  • Safari 4 (Windows)

Please ensure that you are using a supported and up-to-date browser. Popup windows and JavaScript need to be enabled for certain functions of the system.

If you have accessed the portal successfully on a different browser, please inform the webmaster so we can update our list.
