Britannia Ball - May 2012

The Britannia Ball was held in this special year of our Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

More than 200 people enjoyed a champagne reception to start the proceedings, followed by a three-course dinner, dancing to a live band, DJ, magicians, racing challenge, cash bar and more!

Quiz Night - March 2012

Andrew Corbett, ex-Headmaster of Holmewood House, very kindly put together this year’s quiz which, due to it taking place on St Patrick’s Day, had an Irish flavour. It was a lively evening with 8 rounds of questions and two marathon rounds and Mr Paul Gripper was our Quizmaster once again!  This year money was raised for two charities: Young Epilepsy, based in Lingfield, and Kent Search & Rescue.

A Taste of France - February 2012, with Sarah Abbott (Master of Wines)

Christmas Fair 2011
Another spectacular Fair took place towards the end of November. Our committee worked hard to ensure that there was something on offer for everyone.  Our catering corps made sure that attendees had plenty of choice for coffee, lunches and teas, Santa greeted the children in his grotto which had been lovingly decorated, and children were able to pick something lovely for Mum or Dad from our Secrets Room. Our raffle baskets were a great success again this year.

Bonfire Night 2011
Luckily the weather was kind, and following enjoying the usual stalls, drinks and hot dogs, we were treated to a breathtaking fireworks display.  Many thanks to Louise Moat for organising this fantastic event.

It's a Knockout 2011
Our summer event in June was a new one: It’s A Knockout. After an anxious week watching the weather forecasts we were lucky to have a dry afternoon, and Funmatters supplied various events for the inter-house competitions plus a bouncy castle, target golf, laser clay shooting, segways, sumo wrestling, jousting, a rodeo bull and a surf board simulator. The Junior cup was won by Ash and the Senior cup by Oak, and after the competitions had finished everyone was able to try out the Stretch and Score, Big Challenge Assault Course etc.

"The children clearly enjoy coming to school and revel in the opportunities the school provides."
