Individual Music Tuition

Children can start individual instrument lessons from Year 1. Individual instrument tuition takes place within school hours but there is an additional charge for this. Although individual instrument lessons arranged by peripatetic Music teachers are subject to separate and individual contracts with parents, there is an agreed charge, which from 01 September 2011 was set at £33.00 per hour. Lessons are charged pro-rata of this rate. This means that a 30-minute lesson is charged at £16.50 and a 40-minute lesson is charged at £22.00. Where the instructor is a member of the School’s full-time music staff (Mr Bass-Gualbert, Mrs Dickinson or Mrs Johnson) the charge appears as an extra on the School Bill in the normal way. All other payments to peripatetic Music teachers should be made in advance in accordance with individual contracts.
